DAVID CHURCHER, EX-RAF AND GCHQ OFFICER, CONVICTED OF ABUSE IN GLOUCESTER

In a case that has shocked the community of Gloucester, David Churcher, a 72-year-old retired officer with a background in both the Royal Air Force and GCHQ, was found guilty of a series of heinous crimes committed against two sisters over a decade-long period. The offences took place between 1981 and 1991, spanning a significant portion of the victims' childhood and adolescence.

During the trial, the jury meticulously examined the evidence and heard emotional testimonies from the victims, who bravely recounted the profound and lasting psychological trauma inflicted upon them. The court established that Churcher was responsible for a total of 13 separate offences, which included digital penetration and inappropriate touching, acts that have left indelible scars on the victims' lives.

The court proceedings revealed the disturbing nature of Churcher's actions, which were characterized by a pattern of predatory behaviour. Judge Jamie Tabor QC delivered the sentence, condemning Churcher to six and a half years in prison.
