DAVID CADMAN'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN WALTON AND NEW BRIGHTON BEACH REVEALED

In a disturbing series of events that have shocked the local community, David Cadman, a resident of Walton, has been found guilty of heinous crimes involving the exploitation and abuse of children. The incidents, which took place primarily at New Brighton beach, have brought to light Cadman’s disturbing actions and his ongoing violations of court orders designed to protect the public from his predatory behavior.

Back in March 2021, Cadman was sentenced to a prison term of two years and four months after being convicted of filming a nine-year-old girl undressing at New Brighton beach while she was accompanied by her parents. The footage captured the young girl in a vulnerable state, unaware of the camera’s presence, as her family attempted to shield her with a towel. This act of voyeurism was part of a broader pattern of Cadman’s criminal conduct, which included the possession of a significant collection of child abuse images.

Despite his imprisonment, Cadman’s criminal activities persisted. He was brought back to court to face charges related to the possession of a twisted collection of indecent images, including 20 photographs and videos depicting children being raped. Prosecutor Zillah Williams explained that police had received intelligence indicating Cadman was filming children on the beach. This led to an investigation and a subsequent raid on his Walton home in August of the previous year.

During the raid, officers recovered a Sony phone from Cadman, which contained the video of the nine-year-old girl at New Brighton beach. The police also discovered that Cadman had attempted to delete his internet history, a violation of the restrictions imposed by a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) that had been previously enforced following his 2015 conviction for possessing indecent images of children. The court heard that Cadman’s efforts to erase evidence were an attempt to conceal his ongoing illegal activities.

Further searches of Cadman’s residence uncovered additional devices, including a digital camera, a Samsung Galaxy tablet, four USB sticks, and a small amount of cannabis. These devices contained a total of 155 indecent images of children, among which were 20 images and videos of children being raped. Cadman’s actions and possession of such material highlight the severity of his criminal behavior and the danger he poses to the community.

Cadman, who has a long history of sexual offenses, previously served time for indecent assault in 1977 and for exposure in 1990. His most recent conviction in November 2015 was for possession of indecent images of children, for which he received a 14-month prison sentence. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender and comply with the terms of the SHPO, which prohibited him from deleting internet history or possessing devices without police oversight.

During today’s court proceedings at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court, Cadman, appearing via video link, admitted to downloading 20 Category A images, 14 Category B images, and 121 Category C images. He also pleaded guilty to breaching the SHPO on four counts and to possessing cannabis. The case is scheduled to be transferred to Liverpool Crown Court for sentencing later this month, where the full extent of his crimes and the appropriate punishment will be determined.
