LYTHAM ST ANNE’S SCHOOL TEACHER CHARGED WITH CHILD SEX OFFENCES
Police announced that David Brown, aged 34, who works as a teacher at Lytham St Annes High School, has been formally charged following his arrest on January 8.
He was detained under suspicion of sexual grooming, communicating sexually with a minor, and engaging in sexual acts involving a child.
A representative from Lancashire Police stated: "Detectives investigating allegations of sexual offences against a young person have brought charges against a man." The police spokesperson continued: "After discussions with the Crown Prosecution Service, David Brown, of Ambleside Road, St Annes, has been charged with sexual communication with a minor and sexual activity with a minor." All the accusations pertain to the same teenage girl involved in the case.
Brown has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before Lancaster Magistrates Court on February 2.
