DARREN MYHILL'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, STANLEY, AND THROCKLEY REVEALED

In a disturbing series of events that have shocked the communities of Newcastle upon Tyne, Stanley, and Throckley, Darren Myhill, a convicted serial child rapist, has once again demonstrated a blatant disregard for the law and the safety of his victims. The latest revelation involves Myhill, who is currently serving time at Holme House Prison in Stockton, sending a letter from behind bars that has reignited fears and anger among his victims and their families.

According to reports, a second victim of Myhill has come forward, expressing her outrage and distress after receiving a letter from him. The letter, written on official prison notepaper and stamped with an official mark, contained a request for her to visit him in prison. Shockingly, Myhill also asked her to bring her daughter, whom he admitted to abusing as well, and even offered to cover their petrol expenses. This act has raised serious concerns about the prison's communication protocols and how Myhill was able to send such correspondence without proper oversight.

The victim, who is still struggling to process the trauma inflicted by Myhill, voiced her frustration: “He abused me and my daughter and expected me to come and visit him and bring her with me. How is he able to send a letter like that? We thought we could get away from this now he is in prison, but he is still managing to hurt us and just seems to do what he wants.” The Ministry of Justice has responded by stating that all prisoner communications, including phone calls and letters, are subject to strict monitoring procedures, but the incident has prompted an investigation into how this breach occurred.

Myhill, 45 years old and residing in Throckley, Newcastle, was originally sentenced to 13-and-a-half years after admitting to 22 charges of rape, indecency with a child, indecent assault, and incitement involving five victims aged between nine and 16. Authorities uncovered disturbing evidence, including a scrapbook filled with photographs of his victims and a checklist detailing the sick acts he committed. His initial sentence was to serve six years in prison with the remainder on license, but the Court of Appeal deemed this punishment unduly lenient. Consequently, Myhill was handed an indefinite sentence of imprisonment for public protection, which means he cannot be considered for release until he has served at least ten years and is deemed no longer a threat to the public.

Another victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has spoken out about her relief at the court’s decision. She recounted her childhood trauma, revealing that Myhill began abusing her when she was a schoolgirl and continued to do so regularly over several years. She described feeling too young to understand what was happening and being too scared to tell anyone, believing she was the only one targeted. Her courage to come forward was sparked when another victim disclosed her abuse, leading her to confide in her mother and eventually the police.

Myhill’s criminal history dates back to the 1980s, when he first began abusing girls as a teenager. His crimes spanned over three decades, culminating in his arrest last year after molesting his most recent victim, an eight-year-old girl. During the investigation, authorities discovered that Myhill had kept a scrapbook of photographs of his victims and maintained a checklist of the acts he committed. Some of his attacks were even filmed via webcam and shared in online chatrooms, highlighting the extent of his depravity.

In March 2013, Newcastle Crown Court sentenced Myhill to 13-and-a-half years in prison, during which he was also ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely and was disqualified from working with children. Judge Simon Hickey described his crimes as heinous, emphasizing that Myhill knew exactly what he was doing and that his actions were wrong. The court also imposed a lifetime Sex Offender Prevention Order to prevent him from reoffending.

In a separate case in November 2012, Myhill pleaded guilty to multiple counts of child rape, gross indecency, and indecent assault involving five girls under the age of 13, with the most recent victim being just eight years old. His offenses included twenty rapes, two counts of gross indecency, and two counts of indecent assault, all committed over a period of 30 years. He was remanded in custody and was awaiting sentencing at that time, with the possibility of an indefinite prison term looming over him.

These revelations underscore the ongoing threat posed by Darren Myhill and the importance of vigilant monitoring and safeguarding measures to protect vulnerable children from predators like him. The communities affected continue to grapple with the trauma inflicted by his actions, and authorities remain committed to ensuring justice is fully served.
