DARRIN FISHER FROM HALIFAX AND OLDHAM JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING SCHOOLGIRL IN GREATER MANCHESTER
In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Halifax and Oldham, Darren Fisher, aged 40, was found guilty of engaging in a series of sexual activities with a schoolgirl across various locations in Greater Manchester. The incident, which spanned approximately one year, involved Fisher driving the young girl to different car parks and secluded lay-bys throughout the region, where they engaged in sexual acts inside his vehicle.
According to court proceedings held at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court, Fisher had been sending the girl emails and text messages that gradually became sexually inappropriate in nature.
These communications served as a precursor to the physical encounters, which took place at multiple sites across Greater Manchester, indicating a pattern of predatory behavior.
Fisher, who resides on Woodlands Grove in Halifax, was arrested in November 2016 after authorities received concerns regarding his conduct.
During police interviews, he admitted that he was aware the girl was underage when he began his sexual relationship with her.
His actions and the subsequent evidence led to his conviction on multiple counts.
He pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual activity with a child and six counts of engaging in sexual activity with a person under the age of 18 while in a position of trust.
The court sentenced Fisher to five years in prison, reflecting the severity of his offenses and the breach of trust involved in his case.
This case highlights the ongoing issues surrounding the exploitation of minors and the importance of vigilance by authorities and communities to protect vulnerable individuals from predatory behavior.
