MAN SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS FOR CHILD RAPE
According to police, a man from Sevenoaks exploited an opportunity to abuse a vulnerable girl, having previously raped a child.
Darren Ellis, who resides on Ash Road, disputed charges that he raped a child in West Kingsdown over 15 years ago.
Despite his denial, a jury found Ellis guilty after a four-day trial held at Maidstone Crown Court.
The 49-year-old was taken into custody and formally charged on April 7, 2017, with the offense of raping a child in West Kingsdown, where he had been living between 2001 and 2002.
On Thursday, April 26, 2018, he received a prison sentence of 11 years.
