In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Bridgend, Darren Brown, aged 35, was found guilty of attempting to murder his wife, Corinne Brown, during a violent assault that took place in their home in the Wildmill area.The incident occurred on July 10 of the previous year, during what was reportedly an ordinary argument that quickly escalated into a life-threatening attack.
According to court proceedings, Corinne Brown was in the process of soothing their infant child when her husband, Darren Brown, suddenly lost control.
In a fit of rage, he stabbed her three times, targeting her back in a brutal assault.
The attack did not end there; after injuring her, Brown chased her into the bathroom, where he continued his assault by stabbing her again.
The violence was so severe that it left the victim with multiple stab wounds, and the entire incident was captured through audio recordings presented as evidence in court.
The jury deliberated and ultimately convicted Darren Brown of attempted murder.
The judge overseeing the case sentenced him to 18 years in prison, with the stipulation that he must serve at least two-thirds of that sentence before being eligible for parole.
