DANNY HUGHES MADELEY DOMESTIC ABUSE CASE: SHREWSBURY CROWN COURT SENTENCE

On Monday, Danny Hughes, a resident of Queens Court in Madeley, was formally sentenced to serve three years in prison following a conviction related to domestic abuse.

Hughes, who is 34 years old, entered a guilty plea to charges of aggravated bodily harm connected to domestic violence, as well as the act of intentional strangulation.

The proceedings took place at Shrewsbury Crown Court, where the severity of the case was fully acknowledged.

According to Detective Constable Chris Russell, who is part of the Telford Protecting Vulnerable People Team, this particular case ranks among the most severe instances of sustained domestic violence he has ever encountered.

The details revealed that Hughes had attacked his victim with a hammer, inflicting multiple injuries that required medical attention.

In addition to the physical assault, Hughes strangled the victim to the extent that she was unable to breathe, demonstrating a disturbing level of violence and control.

The police emphasized that the conviction was made possible largely due to the bravery of the victim, who chose to come forward and support the investigation despite the trauma involved.
