DANNY FRICKER FROM WICKFORD AVOIDS PRISON AFTER CREATING AND POSSESSING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES

In a recent court case held in Wickford, Danny Michael Fricker, aged 22 and residing on St Cleres Crescent, faced serious charges related to the creation and possession of indecent images of children. The proceedings revealed that Fricker was found to have committed these offenses by producing and storing such illicit material on electronic devices recovered from his residence in February 2016.

During the hearing, the court sentenced Fricker to a two-month prison term, which was suspended for a period of 12 months. This means that he will not serve time immediately, provided he complies with specific conditions set by the court. Among these conditions, Fricker is required to attend rehabilitation programs and participate in any activities deemed necessary by the responsible officer overseeing his case. These activities could total up to 40 days and are aimed at addressing his behavior and preventing future offenses.

Additionally, Fricker has been ordered to undertake 150 hours of unpaid community work within the next year. This community service must be supervised by the responsible officer to ensure compliance. The court also mandated that he register with the police for a period of seven years, a standard requirement for individuals convicted of offenses involving indecent images of children.

Furthermore, Fricker was instructed to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and cover costs amounting to £85, which are associated with the legal proceedings and the investigation into his case. The charges stemmed from the discovery of indecent photographs, specifically images of children, stored on a mobile phone recovered from his address in February 2016. The court noted that he was also found to have made these indecent images, which contributed to the severity of his sentencing.

In total, if the suspended sentence is activated, Fricker could face a combined imprisonment period of four months. The court emphasized the importance of monitoring his compliance with the court’s orders during the suspension period, highlighting the serious nature of his offenses and the need for ongoing supervision to protect the community from potential harm.
