DANNY BRAZIER FROM TELFORD SENTENCED FOR ABUSING TWO UNDERAGE GIRLS IN WORCESTER CROWN COURT
In December 2019, a disturbing case involving a married man from Telford, identified as Danny Antonio Brazier, 28, culminated in his being sentenced to a significant prison term for heinous crimes against two underage girls. Brazier, residing in Ketley, was found guilty at Worcester Crown Court on four counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child and one count of communicating sexually with a minor. The court heard that Brazier had established a troubling relationship with a 14-year-old girl, who was recognized as being at risk of child sexual exploitation. Over time, he groomed her, building a relationship that eventually turned sexual, leading to her becoming pregnant and giving birth to his child.Despite clear evidence, including a DNA test confirming his paternity, Brazier initially denied the allegations. His denial was ultimately overruled by the overwhelming evidence presented in court. The case also revealed that Brazier had sexual intercourse with another vulnerable girl, aged 15, on two separate occasions. These actions demonstrated a pattern of predatory behavior targeting young girls who were particularly susceptible due to their vulnerabilities.
Judge Brand QC sentenced Brazier to five years in prison. Recognizing the severity and danger posed by his actions, the judge also imposed an extended license period of three years, reflecting the court’s assessment that Brazier was a “dangerous” individual. Additionally, he was subjected to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to prevent further offenses.
Tamina Greaves, representing the Crown Prosecution Service, expressed her gratitude to the victims for their bravery and support throughout the legal process. She emphasized that Brazier targeted two unrelated victims, exploiting their vulnerabilities for sexual gratification. Greaves highlighted the strength of the evidence, which led to Brazier’s guilty pleas at his first court appearance, sparing the victims the trauma of testifying in court. She concluded by noting that Brazier has begun his prison sentence, where he will have time to reflect on his criminal conduct.
He was convicted on November 4 and received his sentence on December 5, marking a significant step in justice for the victims and a reminder of the ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable minors from exploitation and abuse.
