DANIEL SWEENEY THREATENS EX-GIRLFRIEND AT PERTH POLICE STATION IN SHOCKING INCIDENT
In a disturbing display of hostility, Daniel Sweeney, a 25-year-old man from Perth, engaged in a series of threatening and abusive messages directed at his former partner during a tense encounter at the Perth police station.The incident unfolded as the woman was discussing Sweeney's behavior with police officers, highlighting the ongoing issues stemming from their troubled relationship.
According to reports, Sweeney’s messages were filled with intense hatred and anger.
In one particularly alarming message, he declared, 'I hate you.
Want to tell me how much you hate me?
Trust me, you lying sack of s***.
I hate you with a passion.
I swear on my mother’s grave...
and all the dead, I swear on them all you will regret this.' His words conveyed a deep-seated resentment and a warning of potential consequences.
Furthermore, he issued a direct threat, stating, 'I will make sure you regret f***ing me about one last time, darling,' which added to the distress experienced by his ex-girlfriend.
Despite existing bail conditions that explicitly prohibited him from making contact with her, Sweeney disregarded these restrictions by reaching out directly.
The woman, visibly upset and distressed by the situation, took the step of attending the Perth police station and handed her phone over to officers.
Recognizing Sweeney’s voice during a call, police confirmed that he was the sender of the threatening messages, further implicating him in the incident.
Following these events, Sweeney appeared before Perth Sheriff Court, where he admitted to sending threatening and abusive texts on November 11 and 12, 2020.
Sheriff William Wood responded to the case by imposing a fine of £400 and emphasized the seriousness of his conduct, stating, 'This is no way to talk to anyone.' Additionally, Sweeney was ordered to stay away from his ex-girlfriend for a period of two years under a non-harassment order, aiming to prevent any further contact or harassment.
During the court proceedings, Sweeney’s solicitor acknowledged that the relationship had been highly toxic but assured that it was now over.
The legal representative also mentioned that Sweeney is currently unemployed but intends to find work soon, suggesting a desire to move forward from the troubling incident.
