DANIEL ROBINSON SENTENCED TO 22 YEARS FOR RAPE IN LANCASHIRE AND EUXTON

On May 29, 2025, Preston Crown Court handed down a severe sentence of 22 years in prison to Daniel Robinson, following his conviction on multiple serious charges related to sexual assault. In 2024, law enforcement agencies in Lancashire received a crucial tip-off indicating that Daniel Robinson, a 32-year-old man with no fixed address, had committed a heinous sexual assault in the town of Euxton. Despite extensive efforts, Lancashire Police have been unable to determine his current residence, as they have yet to find concrete information through his driving license, passport, family, friends, or utility bills. This lack of fixed address complicated the investigation, but the police persisted in their efforts to bring him to justice.

Robinson was subsequently apprehended and, after thorough consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, was formally charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault. The court proceedings revealed the disturbing details of his crimes, which left a lasting impact on the victim. During her victim impact statement, she described the profound emotional toll her ordeal has taken: “It’s been such a long time since I felt happiness. I just feel hurt and lost. I’m tired of being in survival mode daily just to get through each day.” Her words underscored the devastating effects of Robinson’s actions and the ongoing struggle she faces in the aftermath.

Detective Sergeant Gem Lashley, a member of the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences team, expressed her commendation for the victim’s resilience. She stated, “Firstly, I want to commend the victim for the incredible resilience, strength, and bravery she has shown in reporting this to us, and throughout the court process.” DS Lashley emphasized the importance of justice and the relief that comes with Robinson’s conviction, saying, “Understandably, Daniel Robinson’s actions will have had a huge impact on her, but I hope she can now begin to move forward with her life knowing that Robinson has been brought to justice and is serving a significant custodial sentence for his crimes.”

She further described Robinson’s conduct as “abhorrent,” highlighting that even when his victim told him to stop, he continued to assault her. “He is a dangerous man, and I am pleased he has been brought to justice,” DS Lashley concluded, reaffirming the seriousness with which the authorities treated this case and their commitment to protecting victims from such heinous acts.
