September 2008 Internet pervert groomed teenage girls for sex A Lincolnshire man who carried out sex attacks on teenage girls he met after grooming them on Internet chatrooms has been jailed. Daniel Luther travelled hundreds of miles from his Lincolnshire home to meet girls of just 14 and 15. Lincoln Crown Court heard how the offences only came to light after a 14-year-old girl from the Louth area accused him of rape. Stephen Lowne, prosecuting, said that although the rape allegation was not substantiated Luther admitted he had sex with her three times after they met on the Internet. As a result his computer was seized. Police selected a sample of four girls and all told how they had met Luther through chatrooms and he eventually travelled to meet them. Luther later admitted he kissed and cuddled the girls but denied he ever had sex with them. Luther (22), of Paddock Lane East, Blyton, near Gainsborough, admitted five charges of meeting a girl under the age of 16 following sexual grooming. He also admitted four charges of sexual activity with a child. The offences took place between October 2006 and July 2007. He was jailed for four-and-a-half years and placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life. Luther was also banned indefinitely from being alone with any child and from undertaking any activity with children whether paid or voluntary.
