RAPIST DANIEL LANDER JAILED FOR BRUTAL CARAVAN PARK ATTACK
A rapist from the Black Country fractured a woman's eye socket when he launched a 'brutal' caravan park attack.
Daniel Lander was arrested when police were called to reports of a disturbance at the Ty Mawr Caravan Park in Abergele.
Officers arrived shortly after 8.30am on March 29, and found a woman with 'significant injuries' inside a caravan.
In addition to a fractured eye socket, she also had bruises to her back, ribs and arms.
Lander, of Charlemont Avenue, West Bromwich, was arrested on suspicion of assault.
The 27-year-old's sexual crimes came to light when the woman was interviewed by police.
She told officers rape offences had occurred between October 2024 and March 2025.
Lander, who was found guilty of two counts of rape, inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, assault, and criminal damage, appeared at Mold Crown Court for sentencing earlier today (Monday, December 8).
He was jailed for 10 years, with a further two years to be served on licence.
Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Catherine Farrington from North Wales Police said: "Today's sentencing reflects the severity of the horrific offences committed by Lander.
"This man inflicted brutal violence on a woman, leaving her physically injured and emotionally distressed.
"I want to commend the victim in this case.
Her courage, and the detailed accounts of the abuse she has suffered, have been vital in securing this conviction.
"We hope this outcome provides some measure of reassurance as she continues her recovery."
