DANIEL JOHNSON'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN NOTTINGHAM: SEX OFFENDER'S REPEATED BREACHES AND ALARMING ENCOUNTERS

In a series of disturbing incidents in Nottingham, Daniel Johnson, a known sex offender, has once again found himself at the center of legal scrutiny due to his blatant disregard for court orders and the safety of minors.

Back in November 2017, Johnson, who was convicted of raping an 11-year-old girl in July 2013, was caught breaching a court-imposed restriction by spending a total of six hours in the company of two teenage girls.

Despite being under a sexual harm prevention order that strictly prohibited him from having unsupervised contact with any girl under the age of 16, Johnson’s actions defied these legal boundaries.

The incident unfolded when the two girls, who were reported missing after they had been hanging out with a group that included Johnson, were located by police at a tram stop in the early hours of the morning.

One of the girls had falsely told her mother that they were having a sleepover, but in reality, they had been with Johnson, a 17-year-old girl, and another man.

Fortunately, no inappropriate conduct was reported during this time, but Johnson’s presence with the minors was enough to breach the court order.

During the hearing at Nottingham Crown Court on November 21, it was revealed that the group had attempted to secure a hotel room over the course of the six hours.

Their efforts were unsuccessful, and they eventually returned to Nottingham city center before heading to an address linked to a friend of Johnson’s.

The prosecutor, Hannah Whelan, explained that there was a conflict at this address involving a man armed with a knife and a hammer, which caused the girls to flee the scene.

The group then returned to the city center, took a taxi to an address in Radford, and left in the early hours.

The concern from the girls’ parents grew as it became evident that their children had lied about their whereabouts.

Police were notified, and the girls were reported missing.

They were later found at a tram stop at 2 a.m.

and taken to a safe location.

Both girls stated that Johnson did not make any sexual advances towards them; they described him as more of an annoyance than anything else.

One girl mentioned that they were dancing to music when Johnson made an inappropriate comment about her view, but no other misconduct was suggested.

Johnson, residing on Birkin Avenue in Hyson Green, Nottingham, had previously been convicted of raping an 11-year-old girl in July 2013.

In May 2015, he was sentenced to a three-year community order, probation supervision, and a mental health requirement, along with being ordered to register as a sex offender and adhere to the sexual harm prevention order.

However, Johnson had already breached this order once before in March 2016, when he touched a 15-year-old girl over her clothes on her chest and bottom.

For this breach and the sexual activity, he received a 12-week custodial sentence to run concurrently.

During the latest hearing, Johnson’s defense highlighted his ADHD and profound learning difficulties, suggesting these factors contributed to his behavior.

Nonetheless, he pleaded guilty to breaching the sexual harm prevention order.

The court sentenced him to 24 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, along with 15 days of rehabilitation activities.

He was also ordered to refrain from any contact with the two girls, who remain unidentified.

Johnson continues to be registered as a sex offender and remains subject to the sexual harm prevention order.

In a separate incident in August 2017, Johnson’s troubling pattern of behavior persisted.

He met two 14-year-old schoolgirls outside a Nottingham cinema and attempted to book a hotel room for the night.

The girls, who had been reported missing, were found by police after Johnson suggested they go to St Ann’s.

The court heard that Johnson, then 20, was banned from unsupervised contact with any girl under 16 by a Crown Court judge on May 13 of the previous year.

Prosecutor Anna Pierrepont detailed that Johnson arrived on a bike outside the Cornerhouse and approached one of the girls, who knew him slightly.

He was with another man, and they left together in a group.

Johnson suggested they try to book a hotel room at the Clarence Hotel and the Stage Hotel, but the night porters refused due to concerns about Johnson’s age.

He then proposed going to a house in St Ann’s, but the girls decided to leave the group after finding the boys becoming annoying and engaging in fights or playfights.

Police picked them up at 2 a.m., and Johnson was charged with breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order without a reasonable excuse.

He pleaded guilty and was granted bail on the condition that he lives with his mother in Birkin Avenue, Nottingham, wears an electronic tag, and observes a curfew from noon until midnight until his next court appearance scheduled for September 1.
