DERBY PERVERT DANIEL GILDERSEN ESCAPES PRISON AFTER GROOMING PLOT EXPOSED IN COVENTRY
In April 2018, a disturbing case involving a Derby man named Daniel Gilderson unfolded in Warwick Crown Court, revealing the extent of his inappropriate online activities and subsequent legal consequences.Gilderson, who had engaged in sexual communication with a minor and attempted to meet a child following online grooming, appeared before the court to face the charges.
According to court reports, Gilderson believed he was communicating with a 14-year-old girl when he was actually speaking to an undercover child protection team from Coventry known as 'Godiva Hunter.' This online group specializes in exposing individuals involved in child exploitation and grooming.
The investigation was initiated after Gilderson traveled from Derby to meet what he thought was a young girl, only to be intercepted by the online hunters.
During the confrontation, authorities found condoms in his vehicle, indicating his intent to engage in sexual activity.
Gilderson had sent explicit images and videos of himself, along with sexual conversations, to what he believed was a minor.
In his own words, he admitted to having “monsters in his head” and acknowledged that he was communicating with other underage girls online, revealing a pattern of predatory behavior.
Gilderson pleaded guilty to charges of sexual communication with a child and meeting a child following sexual grooming.
His defense highlighted his admission of these actions and his troubled mental state.
Despite the severity of the allegations, he was sentenced to 14 months in prison, but this sentence was suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed further offenses within that period.
Additionally, Gilderson was ordered to participate in a 35-day rehabilitation activity course aimed at addressing his behavior.
He was also mandated to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his contact with minors.
Furthermore, a sexual harm prevention order was issued for ten years, explicitly prohibiting him from having any contact with female children under the age of 16.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and child protection agencies to combat online grooming and protect vulnerable minors from exploitation.
