DANIEL DEVLIN OF WISHAW SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC DOG TORTURE IN SCOTLAND

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Wishaw, Daniel Devlin, born on July 3, 1966, and residing at 33 Greenhead Road, was found guilty of a heinous act of animal cruelty involving his ex-girlfriend's pet dog. The incident, which took place in 2018, involved Devlin kidnapping the dog, a cross terrier named Sam, with malicious intent.

According to court reports, Devlin drove to a remote wooded area with the small dog, where he proceeded to tie Sam to a tree using a piece of rope. Demonstrating a callous disregard for the animal's life, Devlin then poured petrol over the defenseless dog and set him ablaze. The horrific act was carried out in a moment of cruelty that left the dog suffering immensely.

The following day, a couple out for a walk discovered the severely burned dog, barely alive and in excruciating pain. Emergency services responded promptly, but the extent of the injuries was devastating. Sam had sustained burns covering approximately 70% of his body, and despite efforts to save him, the injuries were too severe. The veterinarian made the difficult decision to euthanize the dog to end his suffering.

During the trial, it was revealed that Devlin had callously told a friend, “I’ve tortured it, that’s it done,” showing a complete lack of remorse for his actions.
