DANIEL BREADMORE SENTENCED IN BARRY FOR BREACHING SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER
A man from Barry, Daniel Breadmore, has been handed a 12-month prison sentence after he was found guilty of violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. The incident took place during a police visit to his residence, where officers attempted to recover electronic devices in accordance with the court’s restrictions.
Daniel Breadmore, aged 50 and residing on Barry Road, refused to cooperate fully with law enforcement officers when asked to surrender his mobile phones.
The Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which was issued by Cardiff Crown Court on May 30, 2022, explicitly prohibits Breadmore from accessing any devices that can connect to the internet.
This order was part of a broader legal response to his previous convictions related to child exploitation.
In May 2022, Breadmore was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being convicted on four counts of possessing indecent images of a child.
Additionally, he was found guilty of engaging in sexual communication with a minor, further underscoring the severity of his criminal history.
On June 5, during a police raid at his residence, officers observed that Breadmore appeared to have a phone in his pocket.
When asked to hand over the device, he surrendered one phone but became uncooperative when officers requested the second.
Court reports indicate that Breadmore became 'ballistic' at this point, resisting the officers’ efforts to recover the device.
The second phone was subsequently recovered and examined.
It was discovered to contain software designed to obscure his IP address, making it difficult to trace his online activity.
While no videos were found on the device, authorities noted concerning content referencing incest, which raised alarm among investigators and prosecutors.
These actions constituted a clear breach of the Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which was specifically designed to restrict Breadmore’s online activity and prevent access to harmful material.
The breach was formally acknowledged in court, and Breadmore pleaded guilty to violating the order on June 7, 2024.
His sentencing took place on August 8, 2024, where the judge imposed a prison term of one year.
The court also confirmed that the Sexual Harm Prevention Order would remain in effect for approximately another eight years, continuing to restrict Breadmore’s online access and participation in activities that could pose a risk to children.
