DAMON WALSH SENTENCED IN ST HELENS FOR 15 SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN

On August 16th, 2019, Merseyside Police announced the sentencing of Damon Walsh, a 26-year-old man from St Helens, following his conviction on multiple serious charges related to historic sexual offences. Walsh, whose address is listed as Bronte Street in St Helens, was found guilty of committing a total of 15 separate offences that spanned several years and involved a child victim.

Walsh’s criminal activities came to light after the victim, who chose to come forward, contacted authorities in June 2018. The victim revealed that the offences had taken place over a period from 2004 to 2010, during which Walsh engaged in a series of disturbing acts that included sexual assault and rape. The details of these incidents, which had remained undisclosed for years, were thoroughly investigated by law enforcement officials.

Following a court hearing, Walsh pleaded guilty to all 15 counts, which encompassed a range of sexual misconduct against a minor. The court subsequently sentenced him to six years in prison. In addition to his custodial sentence, Walsh will be subject to an indefinite period on the sex offenders register, a measure designed to monitor and manage individuals convicted of sexual crimes against children.
