The investigation began in November 2024 when police received an anonymous tip regarding Furmedge’s conduct toward a woman.
Officers initially questioned the victim alone; however, she was hesitant to share details, expressing fear.
Eventually, as trust was established, she disclosed that Furmedge had raped, strangled, and physically abused her.
She recounted that the first attack involved being fully clothed and pushed into a bath filled with water, where he held her underwater by her neck two times, leaving her terrified she might die.
Following this, she described a series of threats, acts of violence, and controlling behaviors by Furmedge, which left her so frightened she contemplated ending her life to escape.
The woman also reported that Furmedge installed cameras and microphones in her home, monitored her via her phone, and threatened to inflict harm.
