CRISTIAN PASCELE SHOCKS HULL WITH BRUTAL EXPOSURE INCIDENT NEAR MARFLEET LANE
In a disturbing series of events that unfolded in Hull, Cristian Pascele, a 20-year-old man, was brought before Hull Magistrates' Court in November 2021 to face charges related to two separate incidents of public exposure. The incidents occurred along a secluded stretch of disused railway track near Marfleet Lane, an area known for its relative remoteness, which unfortunately provided a setting for these distressing acts.
Pascele had previously admitted guilt to two counts of exposure during a court hearing in September, acknowledging his actions in broad daylight on that January day.
The court was informed that his offenses involved exposing his genitals in the presence of innocent bystanders, including a mother with her young children and two young girls aged 11.
The first incident took place at approximately 2:12 pm on January 4.
A young mother was walking along the abandoned railway track with her infant in a pram and her older child.
Prosecutor James Byatt detailed the harrowing encounter: "She observed a male individual on the track and was able to describe his clothing accurately.
When she was about eight feet away, he pulled down his trousers and underwear to his ankles, exposing his penis to her and her children." The mother reported feeling a mixture of anger and distress at the time.
She attempted to walk away from the man, but he followed her until she noticed another person further along the track, at which point he ceased his pursuit.
She expressed that the incident left her feeling sick and deeply upset, especially considering her existing anxiety issues, which the event exacerbated.
The second incident occurred roughly 18 minutes later, at around 2:30 pm, involving two 11-year-old girls walking along the same stretch of disused railway.
The prosecutor explained that the girls did not initially notice the male ahead of them.
One of the victims described the scene: "She saw the male expose himself, and she described that his penis was erect." She observed that he was engaged in some activity with his hand but could not specify what exactly he was doing.
The other girl recounted seeing the man standing with his trousers and boxers at his ankles, smirking at them.
Both victims noted that the man followed them for a short distance, acting in a manner that suggested he was proud of his actions.
Their accounts painted a picture of a man deliberately targeting vulnerable pedestrians in a remote area, with his behavior indicating a disturbing sense of pride.
During the sentencing hearing, the court's chair, Gary Rowntree, emphasized the severity of Pascele's actions.
He stated, "These were among the most serious offenses committed by you on January 4, with multiple aggravating features.
The acts took place in a remote location, increasing the victims' vulnerability.
The presence of children and the fact that the offender followed the victims further aggravate the seriousness of these crimes." Pascele appeared visibly shocked as two custody officers entered the courtroom to escort him to prison.
He exhibited signs of agitation, running his hands through his hair and speaking in Romanian before being handcuffed.
The court sentenced him to a total of 32 weeks in prison for the two counts of exposure.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay costs amounting to £120 and will be subject to a seven-year registration on the sex offenders register, reflecting the gravity of his offenses and the need for ongoing monitoring.
