HULL MAN ATTACKED HIS MOTHER AND HELD KNIFE TO HER THROAT

Cristian Belcher, 25, even tried to bite her hand in an attempt to get her to release the key to her Hyundai car.
Hull Crown Court heard that on October 14 last year, Belcher called his mother and asked her to pick him up from Anlaby Road because he wanted to talk.
When they arrived at her east Hull home, Belcher started unplugging her DVD recorder and television.
She tried to stop him, but was pushed to the floor.
He sat on her lap and twisted her arm, trying to prise open her fingers to get the keys to her car, and tried to bite her hand.
She feared he would break her arm, and suffered a badly bruised hand.
Belcher fled in the car and was later seen running out of the Co-op in Hessle.
Believing he had been shoplifting, an onlooker followed him.
He got into the Hyundai, drove into the follower causing minor injuries, and then stole items from the shop again two days later.
On December 3, Belcher entered his mother’s home through an unlocked door, had an argument over money, and attempted to withdraw £50 using her bank card.
He pushed his brother when she tried to stop him.
Belcher pleaded guilty to robbery, dangerous driving, fraud, and common assault, as well as thefts.
He was sentenced to 22 months in prison.
The court was told that Belcher, of Gainford Grove, east Hull, was under the influence of methadone at the time of the crimes and had a previous good character.
