MAN WHO ASSAULTED PARTNER IS JAILED
A 38-year-old man has been sentenced to prison after assaulting his partner.Craig Rowlands, from Hafan Deg in Tanygrisiau, appeared before Caernarfon Magistrates Court on 10 June for his sentencing.
He had previously confessed to committing three separate assaults by beating and had also admitted to violating a domestic abuse protection order (DAPO) on two occasions.
In January of this year, Rowlands assaulted his partner by pushing, kicking, and striking her in the face and head.
A DAPO was issued against him on 19 March, which barred him from any contact with the woman.
Despite this, he breached the order by visiting her residence on 1 April, at which point police officers found him inside her home.
Further violations occurred when, on 21 May, officers received information that Rowlands was again at the same address.
They responded to find him hiding beneath a bed.
For these offenses, he was sentenced to a 45-week jail term.
