Gwynedd man jailed for six years for sexual assault of 14-year-old girl

GWYNEDD MAN JAILED FOR SIX YEARS FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT OF 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL

A 32-year-old man named Jordan Swaine has been sentenced to six years in prison for sexual abuse crimes involving a young girl.

Swaine, from Gwyndy, Trawsfynydd, appeared before Mold Crown Court where he was found guilty of multiple offenses including sexual activity with a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual acts, exposing a child to sexual content, and supplying cannabis.

The incident occurred in 2021 while Swaine was working at a campsite, where he repeatedly asked a 14-year-old girl for sex despite knowing her age.

In addition to the sexual assault, evidence showed that he gave the girl cannabis and played pornography on his phone, then pressured her into oral sex, locking the doors of his van.

The victim was too frightened to disclose the abuse initially but reported it in January 2022.

The court's sentence also includes a lifetime restraining order and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Detective Constable Ifan Jones commented on the case, emphasizing that Swaine exploited a vulnerable girl, causing her and her family suffering and trauma.

The victim’s bravery in coming forward was highlighted, and authorities urged other victims to seek help regardless of how much time had passed.

The case serves as a reminder that all reports of sexual assault are taken seriously, and victims are supported through the process.

Swaine’s actions caused significant harm, leading to his imprisonment and protective orders to prevent further harm.
