CRAIG PALMER FROM STECHFORD AND SUTTON COLDFIELD JAILED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEX OFFENCES INVOLVING BABY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities of Stechford and Sutton Coldfield, Craig Palmer, aged 33, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of a five-month-old baby girl. The sentencing took place at Birmingham Crown Court, where Palmer pleaded guilty to multiple child sex offences, including eight counts of sexual assault committed when the victim was between five and twelve months old.Authorities uncovered Palmer's disturbing activities following a tip-off from the National Crime Agency. The agency's intelligence linked him to indecent images of children posted online, prompting a police investigation. In February 2016, officers executed a warrant at Palmer's residence on Fairfax Road, near Fairfax School in Falcon Lodge, where they arrested him and seized his mobile phone for forensic analysis.
The investigation revealed a horrifying collection of over 1,000 indecent images of children stored on his device. Among these were images depicting Palmer sexually assaulting and abusing the infant girl. The child has since been safeguarded and is reported to be doing well, receiving the necessary support and care to recover from the trauma.
At the time of his arrest, Palmer was residing on Fairfax Road but has since moved to Blakesley Grove, Stechford. In addition to the sexual assault charges, he faced 14 other counts related to the making, possession, and distribution of indecent photographs of children. He was also charged with inciting or causing child prostitution and pornography.
All these offences occurred over a period spanning from December 2014 to February 2016. Palmer entered a guilty plea to all charges in December, and his sentencing reflects the severity of his crimes and the threat he posed to the community.
