CRAIG HAMILTON FROM ROSYTH SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN FIFE

A man from Rosyth, identified as Craig Hamilton, has been sentenced to prison after breaching court orders designed to protect the public from sex offenders. This marks his second violation of such strict conditions, which were initially imposed to prevent further harm. Hamilton’s case has drawn significant attention due to the serious nature of his offenses and the repeated breaches of court directives.

In a case that has shocked the local community, Hamilton was found guilty of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl. The assault involved acts of penetration and took place at various addresses within Fife between April 2021 and January of the following year. The court proceedings revealed that Hamilton had not only committed these heinous acts but also attempted to manipulate the young girl further by asking her to marry him, a proposal that was communicated through social media messages.

Following his guilty plea in March, Hamilton was initially placed under a three-year supervision order. This order included strict conditions aimed at preventing any contact with minors, regulating internet use, and controlling relationships. Despite these measures, Hamilton was found to have violated the court’s orders, prompting the judge to take stern action.

Sheriff James Williamson, presiding over the case at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, did not hold back in condemning Hamilton’s actions. He described the offender as “devious and dangerous,” emphasizing the gravity of his misconduct. The sheriff stated, “This is a serious matter in which you groomed and thereafter abused a child.”

As a result of his latest breach, Hamilton was sentenced to 30 months in prison. The sentence was met with audible disapproval from members of the public gallery, with some muttering “beast” under their breath. The court’s decision underscores the severity with which the justice system views breaches of court orders, especially in cases involving child abuse.

During the proceedings, the court heard details about Hamilton’s manipulative behavior. It was revealed that he showered the young girl with gifts, including perfume and a nail kit, in an apparent attempt to gain her trust. The girl’s mother later discovered that Hamilton had been messaging her daughter directly via Snapchat. An unopened message from a contact named ‘best friend’ contained a picture of a man’s legs and the words “Will you marry me?” accompanied by a ring emoji. When questioned, the girl initially denied any inappropriate contact but later disclosed that Hamilton had touched her sexually.

When Hamilton was arrested, he admitted to officers that his actions were wrong, stating, “It was wrong and it shouldn’t have happened.” His case has once again highlighted the dangers posed by individuals who breach court orders and continue to pose a threat to vulnerable children. The community and legal authorities alike are reminded of the importance of strict enforcement and vigilant monitoring of sex offenders to prevent further tragedies.
