ROSYTH SEX OFFENDER DOWNLOADED INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A 68-year-old Rosyth man downloaded indecent images of children over a period of almost three years.
Grant appeared for sentencing at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.
He had previously admitted that between May 15, 2020 and April 15, 2023 he downloaded such images.
The court was told Grant played down the seriousness of his offending and was in denial, especially after a social worker interview where he minimised his actions.
Sentencing included an 18-month community payback order with supervision, participation in a sex offenders' program, a 150-day movement restriction, and 18 months on the sex offenders register.
Grant suggested he wanted to speak after sentencing, but the sheriff advised against it.
Sheriff Robert More noted that Grant’s honesty was questionable and commented on his denial.
The court found Grant’s behaviour was concerning, given the period over which the images were downloaded.
