CRAIG EYLES JAILED FOR THREATENING EX-PARTNER ON COURT DAY
A man threatened to grab his ex-partner by the throat and punch her on the morning that she was due to give evidence against him, a court heard.
Craig Eyles, of Heath Road in Dewsbury, appeared at Huddersfield court in custody where he pleaded guilty to charges of breaching a restraining order and intimidating a witness.
He had previously harassed Miss White via Facebook and calls after their split in November.
Following the hearing, a restraining order was made banning Eyles from contacting Miss White.
Despite threats such as “I’m going to slap you, grip you to the throat and punch you in the nose,” Miss White did attend court to give evidence, which contributed to his conviction.
Eyles was finally jailed for a total of 32 weeks after changing his plea to guilty for new offences on April 22, including calling her several times from a withheld number.
The magistrates noted that he had behaved appallingly and recognized he was terrified of prison, but acknowledged that his conduct had brought about a custodial sentence.
