CORY VILLAGE SENTENCED FOR SERIOUS SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRL IN WORCESTER
In April 2016, Cory Village, then 16 years old and residing at Sycamore Road, Worcester, was convicted of multiple serious offenses involving a young girl.On 12th April at Worcester Magistrates Court, he pleaded guilty to two counts of raping a child under 13 and two counts of sexual assault against the same victim.
Throughout the process, Village denied the allegations, which resulted in the young girl having to give evidence via video link, causing additional trauma for her and her family.
The court was informed that Village had sexually abused and raped the six-year-old girl repeatedly over a period of ten months.
The victim confided in her mother, who then contacted the police.
Village was described as a compulsive liar who showed no remorse, guilt, or shame for his actions against the young girl.
During the incidents, Village threatened the child to silence her, warning that he would be very angry if she told anyone.
Court reports indicated that Village's actions were calculated and systematic, displaying traits associated with sociopathic tendencies.
As a result of the abuse, the young victim has experienced significant emotional trauma and is currently undergoing ongoing counseling.
Village was sentenced to two years in prison, with a minimum of 12 months to be served.
Upon release, he is required to register as a sex offender and remains subject to a sexual harm prevention order until May 2021.
Additionally, he is prohibited from any unsupervised contact or communication of any kind with children under 16, unless in the course of lawful daily activities.
