MAN SEXUALLY ASSAULTED YOUNG GIRL
A man from Huddersfield has been sentenced to prison after committing sexual assaults against a young girl.The victim was praised for her courage in coming forward and reporting the incidents.
Corey Furey, aged 27, was convicted in October of seven counts of sexual assault involving the girl, as well as causing a child to participate in sexual activity.
Following the conviction, authorities from the Kirklees District Child Safeguarding Unit initiated an investigation, leading to Furey’s arrest shortly thereafter.
In addition to his custodial sentence, Furey has been issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
This order will enable authorities to arrest and prosecute him immediately should he violate any of its conditions after his release.
Additionally, he will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
