CONNER TAYLOR PLEADS GUILTY TO SEX OFFENCES IN MILES PLATTING AND ANGLESEY
In a case that has shocked the local community, Conner Christopher Taylor, aged 21, formerly residing at Maes Cynfor in Cemaes Bay but now living on Padstow Street in Miles Platting near Manchester, has been warned he faces a lengthy prison term after admitting to multiple serious sexual offences involving two young girls.Initially scheduled to stand trial later this month at Caernarfon Crown Court, Taylor appeared before the court this morning. During the hearing, his legal team requested that some of the charges be re-presented for clarification. Subsequently, Taylor pleaded guilty to three counts of rape, two counts of inciting a 10-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity, and four counts of sexual assault.
Prosecutor Elen Owen informed the court that she would be requesting the court to include the remaining charges on the case file in due course. She explained, “The defendant’s legal team provided the prosecution with prior notice of the intended pleas, which the Crown has accepted. Police officers have spoken to the complainants, who are also in agreement with the plea deal.”
The court was told that all of these offences took place over a two-week period during the summer of 2010 on the island of Anglesey. The details of the incidents have caused significant concern among residents and authorities alike.
Defence counsel Maria Masselis requested an adjournment for the preparation of reports before sentencing. She acknowledged that Taylor was fully aware of the gravity of the charges and the likely outcome of the upcoming sentencing hearing.
Judge Huw Rees responded by agreeing to adjourn the case for the necessary reports to be prepared. Addressing Taylor directly, the judge stated, “You have pleaded guilty to very serious offences, and the sentence is likely to be one of imprisonment. However, before I pass sentence, I need to understand more about you.”
Following the hearing, Taylor was granted bail and will return to court next month for sentencing proceedings. The case continues to draw attention from the local community and highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address such grave crimes.
