DOMESTIC ABUSER AND DRUG DEALER JAILED FOR 5 YEARS AFTER MOTHER REPORTS VIOLENCE
An abusive drug dealer who was reported to police by his mother has been sentenced to five years in prison.Conna Hardy, 22, was discovered with a stash of drugs valued at up to £22,000 in his bedroom after his mother called 999 to report his aggressive behavior.
Hardy was later found to have been in possession of cocaine and ketamine intended for supply.
The court heard that Hardy's mother contacted police in Blidworth, near Mansfield, on 11 June 2020 after he had just come out of a seizure and was acting aggressively.
She also revealed the presence of a substantial amount of drugs in his room, which officers seized, confirming drugs worth approximately £22,235.
Hardy's criminal history includes previous convictions for domestic assault.
Further, he subjected his partner to a terrifying attack in August last year, which left her traumatized and fearing for her life, as she believed Hardy intended to kill her.
Hardy, who moved from Nottinghamshire to Whitley Bay, was described as 'full of intoxicants, rage and jealousy' during the attack, which was characterized as very frightening.
During sentencing, a restraining order was imposed to prevent Hardy from contacting his victim.
The court noted that Hardy had previously caused his mother to turn against him due to his violent and unpredictable nature, especially highlighted during the recent assault.
Hardy has apparently stopped using drugs and expressed a desire to be a good father to his child.
The sentencing reflects his violent and drug-related offenses along with his history of domestic violence, which culminated in a five-year prison term.
