CLINT DENMARK FROM BLACKBURN AND OSWALDTWISTLE FLOUTS SEX OFFENDER ORDERS AGAINST CHILDREN

In a troubling series of violations, Clint Denmark, a known sex offender from Blackburn and Oswaldtwistle, has repeatedly disregarded court-imposed restrictions designed to protect minors under the age of 16. Despite being under strict legal orders, Denmark has continued to breach these conditions over a span of four years, raising serious concerns about his compliance and the safety of children in the community.

Denmark, a father of two and a former soldier, is already on the sex offenders’ register for life following a previous conviction. His criminal history includes a three-year prison sentence handed down in January 1999 for indecent assault on an 11-year-old child. This prior conviction set the stage for the subsequent legal restrictions placed upon him.

In June 2006, Hyndburn magistrates issued an interim order prohibiting Denmark from having any contact with children under 16. This order was later made permanent in February 2007, reflecting the court’s concern for public safety and the need to prevent any potential harm. Despite these legal measures, Denmark was found to have violated the order on multiple occasions, with nine counts of breach admitted in court.

The court proceedings revealed that Denmark’s breaches occurred over a period of four years, although there was no evidence to suggest that he had actually abused any children during this time. Nevertheless, the court was clear that his repeated violations warranted serious consequences. Burnley Crown Court sentenced him to an additional year behind bars, emphasizing the importance of enforcing such orders to protect vulnerable minors.

During the sentencing, Judge Simon Newell addressed Denmark directly, stating that it should have been obvious to him what the restrictions entailed and the importance of adhering to them. The judge acknowledged the absence of evidence indicating any recent abuse but underscored that custody was necessary to uphold the law and safeguard children. He stressed that the primary considerations in his decision were the protection of children and the deterrent effect of the sentence.

Judge Newell also issued a stern warning that the existing order remains in effect indefinitely. He cautioned Denmark that any future breaches would result in increasingly severe sentences, emphasizing that continued non-compliance would not be tolerated.

Earlier, in June 2006, Denmark’s violations of the sex offenders’ register conditions came to light when he was found living at an address in Oswaldtwistle with two young boys. This led to the imposition of an interim sexual offences prevention order by Hyndburn Magistrates Court, which aimed to restrict his interactions with minors. Under this order, Denmark was prohibited from associating with any child under 16, allowing children into his home, entering school premises, playgrounds, or parks, or loitering outside these areas.

At that time, Denmark was serving a prison sentence, having been convicted of indecent assault on a child under 16 in 1999. The court’s actions reflected a serious effort to prevent any further offending. He was scheduled to be released from prison in August, with a full application for a sexual offences prevention order to be considered at Hyndburn Magistrates Court on September 1. The ongoing legal restrictions highlight the community’s concern over Denmark’s behavior and the importance of strict enforcement of sex offender laws to protect children from potential harm.
