CLIFFORD HODGKINS FROM WORCESTER JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN PERTHSHIRE AND BLAIRGOWRIE
A man identified as Clifford Hodgkins, aged 42, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offences committed in the Perthshire area, specifically around Blairgowrie. The crimes, which spanned over a period of 19 months from September 2020 to January 2022, involved a woman who was subjected to a series of distressing and invasive acts.
Hodgkins was brought before the High Court in Edinburgh earlier this year, where he faced a range of charges including rape, physical assaults, sexual assaults, and abusive behavior.
One particularly alarming incident involved him brandishing a screwdriver at his victim, an act that added a threatening dimension to his misconduct.
The court's verdict reflected the severity of his actions and the impact on the victim.
Following his conviction, the court sentenced Hodgkins to nine years in prison.
In addition to his incarceration, he was ordered to undergo a further three years of supervised release after his prison term.
Furthermore, he was placed on the sex offenders' register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions aimed at protecting the public from any future offenses.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and judicial authorities to address and penalize serious sexual crimes, especially those committed over extended periods and involving threats or violence.
