CHRISTOPHER SNOW LEEDS SEX OFFENDER SHOCKER: FORMER POLICE OFFICER ADMITS TO CHILD SEX CRIMES IN LEEDS
In a disturbing development, Christopher Snow, a 25-year-old former police officer from Leeds, has admitted to a series of serious sexual offences involving minors. Snow, who previously served with West Yorkshire Police before resigning amid allegations, appeared at Leeds Crown Court to face multiple charges related to child exploitation and indecency.Snow pleaded guilty to eight counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. The victims were young girls aged 12, 13, and 14, highlighting the severity and disturbing nature of his crimes. In addition to these charges, Snow also admitted to possessing and making indecent photographs of children. Specifically, he faced ten charges of creating such images, one charge of possessing indecent images, and a charge of breaching a sexual offences prevention order.
The court was informed that Snow was found in possession of a staggering 642 indecent images, with 46 classified as level four, which is considered the second most serious category. The breach of the sexual offences prevention order was linked to Snow having a camera on his mobile phone, despite being explicitly prohibited from doing so under the terms of the order.
Details of the case revealed that Snow’s criminal activity included the possession of a large collection of illicit images, some of which depicted extremely disturbing content. The case was adjourned to allow for psychiatric assessments and pre-sentence reports, with sentencing scheduled for the following month. Snow was granted bail, but Judge Roger Ibbotson issued a stern warning, emphasizing that all sentencing options, including imprisonment, remained on the table.
It is noteworthy that Snow’s criminal history dates back to 2006, when magistrates spared him jail time after he pleaded guilty to eight offences involving the making and possession of indecent images of children. Those offences spanned from October 2004 to December 2005 and involved a total of 895 images and video clips discovered on two computers. Among these images, 61 were classified at level five, which can include depictions of bestiality, while 28 were at level four, involving children and adults. The victims ranged in age from as young as three to 14 years old, with some images showing bondage scenarios and disturbing acts such as a girl over 11 with a carving knife held above her genitals.
Snow’s previous conviction resulted in a six-month jail sentence, suspended for two years, along with 200 hours of unpaid work. He was also placed under a supervision order for two years and required to register as a sex offender for a period of seven years. The case underscores the ongoing threat posed by individuals with a history of such offences, especially those who have previously served in law enforcement roles, raising concerns about safeguarding and the importance of vigilant monitoring.
