THREE SHEFFIELD BROTHERS JAILED FOR EXPLOITING GIRL IN CHILD SEX RING
Three brothers named Christopher, Shane, and Matthew Whiteley, all from Hackenthorpe, Sheffield, have been sentenced to prison for forcing a 15-year-old girl into sex for money on as many as 40 occasions.They were found guilty of conspiracy to cause or incite child prostitution after a trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
Christopher Whiteley received a 15-year sentence and was additionally convicted of sex offenses against other victims.
Shane Whiteley was sentenced to eight years and convicted of one child prostitution offense, with other charges unresolved.
Matthew Whiteley was sentenced to seven years and convicted of one child prostitution offense, with some charges awaiting retrial.
Their associate Amanda Spencer, who was found guilty of four child prostitution offences, was jailed for three years and received a sentence to run concurrently with a previous 12-year sentence from 2014.
Also convicted was Taleb Bapir, who was sentenced to 10 years for rape.
The judge described the group’s actions as a breakdown of humanity, citing their greed for sexual and financial gain.
During the trial, it was revealed that the victims, including a 15-year-old girl, were given alcohol and drugs before being forced into sexual acts in Sheffield's red light district, with a typical charge of £50 per act, occurring approximately 30 to 40 times.
The offences took place at Castle Market, which was closed in 2013.
The jury heard that Spencer took one girl to up to 50 properties and forced her to have sex with men, including Bapir, for money.
The court also heard that Spencer ignored the girl’s vulnerability and sold her body without concern for her wishes, leading to her exploitation and suffering.
The convictions highlight the severity of the criminal behavior and the horrific exploitation of the victims involved.
