CHRISTOPHER MOORHOUSE OF EDLINGTON, DONCASTER, CONVICTED FOR NEGLECTING DOGS

Christopher Moorhouse, born around 1990 and residing on Kings Crescent, Edlington, Doncaster DN12 1BD, was convicted in 2025 for neglecting three dogs. The animals were found living in deplorable conditions, surrounded by their own waste, during a police search of Moorhouse’s home in May 2024.

The three dogs were in poor health as a result of their environment, with a veterinary report confirming they had endured unnecessary suffering. Moorhouse was arrested at the scene and later charged with three counts of causing unnecessary suffering to animals. He admitted to all three charges.

According to a press release from South Yorkshire Police, 'one of the dogs has been successfully rehomed,' although there was no information provided regarding the fate of the other two dogs.

At sentencing, Moorhouse was fined £200, ordered to pay a £114 victim surcharge, and tasked with covering £85 in costs. Additionally, he received a ten-year ban on keeping animals, which will expire in May 2035.

South Yorkshire Police and BBC News reported on the case.
