CHRISTOPHER LIPSCOME FROM BISHOPS GREEN SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES

In a case that has shocked the local community of Bishops Green, 20-year-old Christopher Lipscome has been found guilty of possessing, creating, and distributing indecent images of children. The incident came to light after authorities uncovered his activities involving highly disturbing material stored on his girlfriend’s computer.

According to court proceedings at Winchester Crown Court, Lipscome, who resides on Osprey Close in Bishops Green, admitted to six counts related to the possession, production, and dissemination of these vile images. The court heard that he was actively using his girlfriend’s computer to view and share these disturbing images, which were sent to him from various email addresses. Prosecutor Rob Welling detailed that Lipscome would first receive the images via email, then view them, and subsequently forward them to other contacts, perpetuating the cycle of distribution.

Welling explained that the nature of the images escalated over time. Initially, the images depicted adults in their underwear, but as the investigation progressed, the content became increasingly younger and more disturbing. The images were classified on a five-point severity scale, with level five representing the most extreme and illegal material. The court was told that Lipscome, who was arrested in January, took measures to conceal his activities by using a password on his girlfriend’s computer, preventing her from discovering what he was doing.

During the hearing, Lipscome’s defense attorney, Christopher Bertham, highlighted his client’s aspirations to become a professional chef. Bertham stated that Lipscome was working part-time and saving money to enroll in a culinary course. He also mentioned that Lipscome had previously worked in the kitchens of renowned chef Marco Pierre White, which he described as an inspiring experience.

However, the seriousness of the offense was underscored by Judge Andrew Barnett during sentencing. The judge emphasized the disturbing nature of the images and the harmful impact of their distribution. He acknowledged that Lipscome had no prior criminal record but recognized that he faced personal issues that needed addressing. Judge Barnett remarked that society would benefit from these issues being properly managed.

As a result, Lipscome was sentenced to two years in a young offenders institution, but the sentence was suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed another offense within that period. Additionally, he was placed under a two-year supervision order and mandated to participate in a treatment program aimed at addressing his behavior.

Judge Barnett concluded by expressing hope that the program would help Lipscome confront and manage his troubling tendencies. Furthermore, Lipscome was ordered to pay £600 in court costs and was placed on the sex offender register, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities to protect the community from potential harm.
