CHRISTOPHER JAMESON FROM BISPHAM SENTENCED TO 17 YEARS FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN PRESTON
In a case that has shocked the local community of Bispham and the wider Preston area, Christopher Jameson has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 17 years for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against two young children. The crimes, which spanned over a period of time, involved disturbing acts of abuse against victims aged just five and 12, with the details emerging during a trial at Preston Crown Court.Jameson, aged 58 and residing on Linden Place in Bispham, appeared in court to face justice for his actions. Throughout the proceedings, he leaned heavily on his walking stick and exhibited a calm, emotionless demeanor as he sat in the dock. He was wearing headphones to aid his hearing, and despite the gravity of the charges, showed no visible remorse or reaction to the verdicts.
The court heard that Jameson had consistently denied his guilt throughout the trial. He even went as far as to accuse one of his victims of fabricating her account of the abuse. However, the jury found him guilty of multiple charges after careful deliberation. The judge, Stuart Baker, described the crimes as “the grossest breach of trust,” emphasizing the severity and the betrayal involved.
Judge Baker detailed the nature of the offenses, stating, “You have been convicted by the jury of raping a girl as young as 12 and continuing when she was 13. At that time, you were in your 40s, a responsible adult, and there was a significant age disparity between you and your victims.” He further explained that the charges were representative of multiple offenses, with the jury concluding that Jameson had committed these acts on at least five separate occasions.
The judge highlighted the profound psychological harm inflicted upon the victims, noting the persistent and calculated nature of the crimes. “These were persistent offenses. You showed no remorse whatsoever, and your case at trial was not merely a denial—you accused the girl of fabricating her evidence, which the jury plainly found to be an invention on your part,” he said.
Among the charges, Jameson was convicted of raping a girl between the ages of 12 and 14, and on one occasion, attacking her with a sex toy when she was just 13. Additionally, he was found guilty of kissing a five-year-old girl, further illustrating the disturbing pattern of his behavior. It was also revealed that Jameson had a prior conviction for indecent assault in 1974, when he was only 16 years old.
As a result of his convictions, Jameson will be placed on the Sex Offender’s Register for the rest of his life. Furthermore, he will be subject to a mandatory one-year extended license period upon his release from prison, ensuring ongoing supervision and restrictions to protect the community from any potential risk he might pose in the future.
