CHILD ABUSER HODGSON JAILED AFTER GROOMING AND HORRIFIC CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
Christopher Hodgson, aged 46, is a person who has committed multiple serious offenses related to child abuse.Hodgson admitted to a total of 14 offenses, which included making, possessing, and distributing indecent images of children, some of which involved the abuse of a four-month-old baby and a two-year-old child.
These images and videos reflected extreme depravity and were found among his belongings several years ago in Cumbria.
Hodgson also sent videos of himself abusing a teenage boy to other men, and discussions on his phones revealed he had talked about raping babies and abusing children, demonstrating the depths of his depravity.
He was first arrested in June 2021 after reports of assaulting a teenage boy in Blackpool.
Police then seized two phones from him containing these horrific images and messages.
He was not charged until November 2024, when he admitted to indecent images offenses at Carlisle Magistrates' Court.
Despite being on bail, Hodgson continued messaging who he believed was a 14-year-old boy through Snapchat, where he sent videos of sex acts and expressed eagerness to meet for sexual activities.
Hodgson arranged to meet at Newcastle Central Station on 22 January, but was intercepted by police when he arrived.
The court heard that Hodgson had a clear intention to abuse the child, with the judge describing his collection and sharing of such images as "demonstrating the depths of depravity that excited [Hodgson's] interest".
The judge also highlighted that Hodgson's actions caused unimaginable damage to children and provided a "customer base" for the proliferation of such vile images online.
Hodgson was sentenced to seven years imprisonment for these offences.
