MAN FACES COURT OVER CHILD ABUSE AND BESTIALITY IMAGES
A man accused of hoarding child abuse and bestiality images at a property in Barrhead has been given another court date.
Christopher Griffin, 41, is said to have been in possession of the images in the town’s Cedar Place.
Prosecutors claim that, in the period between November 9, 2018, and March 19 last year, Griffin “did take or permit to be taken or make indecent photographs or pseudo-photos of children,” in breach of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982.
He is also accused of breaking the same Act by being in possession of indecent images of children, or pseudo-photographs of children, between the same dates.
On March 19 last year, Griffin is said to have broken the same legislation again by being in possession of “extreme” pornographic images that depicted bestiality in “an explicit and realistic way.” Griffin, of Renfrew, pleaded not guilty to all three charges during a short hearing at Paisley Sheriff Court in January.
The case called again later that month but was adjourned until last week.
When the matter returned to court on Friday, proceedings were continued until next month for a pre-trial hearing to take place.
