PAISLEY BEAST WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULTED GIRL BREACHES STRICT COURT ORDER
A sex offender from Renfrewshire violated a strict court order by failing to declare his use of a mobile phone, claiming it was because “it wasn’t charged.” Robert Young was issued a sexual harm prevention order in November 2024 following his imprisonment for crimes involving 11 young girls.
His past offenses included sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl at a primary school, threatening a 14-year-old with rape in front of her mother, and suggesting to another teenager that she start an OnlyFans account.
The sheriff at Paisley Sheriff Court described his conduct as “persistent, predatory and targeted.” He was sentenced to three years in prison and given a five-year restriction order on his sex offender status, which limited him to owning only one mobile phone and one computer without prior approval.
He was also required to report any electronic devices to authorities within 72 hours.
However, between February 20 and 24, Young violated these conditions by using a PlayStation and more than one mobile phone at a flat on Clarence Street in Paisley, without informing the Sex Offender Policing Unit.
His legal representative explained that he was released from prison with an unregistered phone and used a broken charger cable to conceal it.
Aged 22, Young had been released from HMP Polmont on February 19 and was found to have used additional devices after his release.
He has since been remanded in custody following his arrest.
The court ordered him to undergo supervision for three years and imposed a conduct requirement for the same duration.
