DERBY PERVERT CHRISTOPHER GEE SENTENCED FOR CHILD AND ANIMAL INDECENT IMAGES
In June 2021, a Derby man was sentenced for sharing indecent images of children and animals.
Christopher Gee, of Rupert Road, Chaddesden, has been placed on the Sex Offender Register for five years after admitting to multiple offences.
Gee pleaded guilty to two counts of making or possessing indecent images of children, one count of distributing such images, and one count of possessing extreme pornographic images.
The court found Gee, who had no prior convictions, with two category B images and 37 category C images, the latter being considered the least serious.
He distributed three images and was also found with three pictures depicting animal pornography.
The child images involved girls aged between four and 10 years.
Along with registration, Gee received a five-year sexual harm prevention order which bars him from remaining at locations with children under 16, prohibits him from contacting females under 16, and requires him to report any electronic devices to police within three days.
Additionally, he was sentenced to an 18-month community order, 30 days of rehabilitation activities, and was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
During the sentencing at Derby Crown Court, Judge Shaun Smith QC noted that although Gee had personal difficulties, these did not excuse his criminal behavior.
The police arrested the 42-year-old on May 5, 2020, after identifying him through his IP address linked to his family home.
He had uploaded images between January and March of that year.
Prosecutor Lisa Hardy explained that Gee had communicated with individuals via the messaging app Kik.
After his arrest, Gee initially claimed he had been sent the images and stated he did not derive gratification from them, but later changed his story and pleaded guilty.
Representing himself in court, Gee, who was unable to attend due to illness, expressed remorse for his actions.
