A CARLISLE man sent a woman a message online in which he declared his undying love for her and added threats of rape.

Christopher Gate, 33, sent this message via social media on November 30 last year, including references to wanting to rape her.

At Carlisle’s Rickergate court, he admitted to sending the threatening message.

Magistrates adjourned sentencing, sending the case to Carlisle Crown Court for a hearing on October 17.

Gate was granted bail on the condition that he has no contact with the victim.
