CARDIFF PAEDOPHILE CHRISTOPHER GAMLIN CAUGHT TRYING TO MEET 13-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN PARK
In December 2017, a disturbing incident unfolded in Cardiff involving a man named Christopher Gamlin, a 47-year-old who worked at a bingo hall.Gamlin became the subject of a sting operation conducted by a dedicated online child protection team known as 'Keeping Kids Safe.' Gamlin had engaged in a series of online communications with what he believed was a 13-year-old girl.
During these exchanges, he sent explicit photographs of himself, clearly indicating his inappropriate intentions.
In addition to these images, he requested photographs of the girl’s breasts, further demonstrating his grooming behavior.
The situation escalated when Gamlin arranged to meet the girl in a local park, presumably with the intent to carry out sexual activity.
However, his plans were thwarted when the paedophile hunters set up a sting operation.
They confronted him on camera, capturing the moment of his arrest.
The confrontation was part of their effort to protect children from potential harm and to bring offenders to justice.
Following his arrest, Gamlin was taken into custody by Cardiff police.
During court proceedings at Cardiff Crown Court, he admitted to attempting to meet a child for sexual purposes, grooming the girl, and inciting her to engage in sexual activity.
It was revealed that Gamlin already had a caution on his record for making indecent images of a child, indicating a prior history of inappropriate behavior.
Judge Jeremy Jenkins sentenced Gamlin to a prison term of one year and nine months.
Additionally, he imposed a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, restricting Gamlin’s future interactions and access to children.
In his remarks, Judge Jenkins emphasized the severity of Gamlin’s actions, stating, “You have a very unhealthy interest in children.
You were repeatedly told she was only 13 years of age.” The case highlights ongoing concerns about online grooming and the importance of vigilant community efforts to protect vulnerable minors from predators.
