NOTTINGHAM PAEDOPHILE CHRISTOPHER FARROW SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN PRISON
In a case that has shocked the Nottingham community, Christopher Farrow, a 60-year-old man from Nottingham, was convicted of serious sexual offenses involving minors. The investigation into Farrow’s activities spanned over a year, culminating in his arrest on July 31, 2020, at his residence in Bluecoat Close, Nottingham.
Detectives from Nottinghamshire’s Public Protection team meticulously built their case against Farrow, who initially denied any involvement with a mobile phone or internet usage, claiming he did not possess such devices.
Despite his assertions, authorities suspected otherwise and took steps to verify his claims.
To 'sound out' Farrow, officers used the phone number they had obtained through extensive inquiries.
They made a call to the number, which led them to uncover the hidden location of the device when they removed the surround from the fireplace in his home.
This discovery proved pivotal, as the phone contained indecent images of children, along with chat logs and evidence indicating that Farrow had shared these images with others.
The investigation into Farrow’s activities began in April 2019 when the National Crime Agency alerted Nottinghamshire Police about an indecent image of a child uploaded onto the internet by him.
Following this, Farrow was arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children and was subsequently released under investigation.
Further inquiries revealed that he had uploaded additional indecent images, prompting multiple referrals to the police.
Despite these allegations, Farrow refused to cooperate, maintaining that he never used his mobile phone.
Examinations of his phone, including cooperation with his service provider, contradicted his claims.
Evidence showed that Farrow had been actively using his phone daily.
This led to charges of failing to disclose the key to protected information, with a trial scheduled for January 2021.
Farrow pleaded not guilty to these charges.
On July 21, 2020, Farrow made contact with a 14-year-old boy via social media, under the username ‘Gooddadof A Son’.
Unbeknownst to him, the account belonged to an undercover police officer.
Their conversations quickly turned highly sexual, and Farrow sent an indecent image of himself to the minor.
This act of attempted sexual communication with a minor resulted in further charges.
Following his arrest ten days later, authorities found his phone hidden in the fireplace at his home.
The device contained additional indecent images and chat logs, confirming his involvement in distributing such material.
Farrow was charged with multiple offenses, including attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child, three counts of making indecent images of children, and three counts of distributing such images.
He pleaded guilty to all charges, including the failure to disclose the key to protected information.
Yesterday, at Nottingham Crown Court, Farrow was sentenced to a total of seven years and three months in prison for his crimes.
The sentence reflects the severity of his actions and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable minors from such predatory behavior.
