CHRISTOPHER DUNSTAN CAUGHT IN PENZANCE FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES
In a serious case that has shocked the community of Penzance, Cornwall, Christopher Dunstan, aged 57, has admitted to downloading indecent images of children. The charges against Dunstan, a resident of St Dominic Street in Penzance, encompass a total of 15 separate counts, all related to various levels of child indecency material. These illicit activities took place over a period spanning from December 2010 to January 2011, highlighting a sustained period of offending.Initially, Dunstan denied any involvement in the crimes when he appeared at Truro Crown Court. However, midway through the trial proceedings, he changed his stance and entered a plea of guilty to eight of the charges. This shift in plea was a significant development in the case, which had garnered considerable attention due to the nature of the allegations.
The court was informed that the police investigation was triggered after Dunstan took his computer to a repair shop. During the repair process, staff at the shop discovered that the device had been used to download and store illegal images. Following the acceptance of his guilty pleas by the Crown Prosecution Service, Judge Nicholas Vincent directed the jury to return guilty verdicts on the charges.
