DERBY RAPIST CHRISTOPHER BURNS SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS AND REGISTER
🔺🔺AWARENESS POSTING OFFENDER NOW FREE 2016🔻🔻 ‘Predator’ gets 10 years in jail after series of repeat attacks – May 2011 A predator who raped a woman he met in a Derby nightclub has been jailed ten years.Unemployed Christopher Burns attacked the 21 year old victim on separation occasions after meeting her at Zanzibar club in London Road.
Derby crown court how then Burns boasted to his friends about the assaults.
Burns was found guilty of six charges of rape following a five day trial.
🔺🔺He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register indefinitely.🔻🔻 DC Martin Moore quote – “Burns is manipulative and arrogant and a predator.
He sees women as property” Detectives fear there have been more victims and urge them to come forward.
Detective Constable Martin Moore CID said “I hope this sends out a strong message and gives them confidence to speak to us” Burns previously of Selby in York was found not guilty of 11 other charges of rape relating to two other women and sexual activity with a child under 13.
He was reported to the police in December 2000.
And a long and difficult investigation followed.
After the hearing DC Moore said he welcomed the sentence.
He said “It had been a long and difficult investigation” And hopes the sentence brings some closure for the victims whom have been supported and kept upto date with the investigation.
