UNIVERSITY GRADUATE DISCUSSED HAVING SEX WITH A SIX-YEAR-OLD
University graduate Chris Webber has admitted to sharing a graphic image involving a six-year-old girl with a similar offender. The 36-year-old also disseminated distressing images of young children being abused by adults.
Police found nearly 3,000 such images and videos when they raided his home and confiscated his devices, gathering evidence over several years.
Additionally, it was revealed that Webber, who had previously failed in his attempts to join the armed forces as a teenager, searched the internet using terms such as “jailbait” and “incest.” He was given a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years.
Judge Nirmal Shant KC remarked: “This is a very unusual and unique case and an unusual feature is that the distribution took place in 2015 more than 10 years ago.
“The images were also not uploaded to a public forum but to others who clearly shared your mindset at the time.
“The second batch of offending, the possession of the offences, is more than four years ago.” Webber, from Alvenor Street, pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing indecent images, one of possessing extreme pornography, and three counts of distributing indecent images of children.
His suspended sentence includes a requirement to complete 150 hours of unpaid community work and attend 35 rehabilitation sessions.
The judge also issued a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and mandated that Webber be registered as a sex offender for a decade.
