CHRIS HOOD FROM NEWPORT JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN GWENT AND CHEPSTOW

A man identified as Chris Hood, aged 36, has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of a series of serious sexual offences committed in the regions of Newport and Chepstow, both located within east Wales.

Hood admitted to multiple charges, including three counts of creating indecent photographs of a child.

Additionally, he pleaded guilty to taking an indecent photograph of a child and possessing an extreme pornographic image involving an animal.

These offences highlight a disturbing pattern of criminal behavior involving exploitation and abuse.

Furthermore, Hood acknowledged his involvement in voyeuristic activities, admitting to observing a person engaged in a private act on two separate occasions.

He also confessed to recording a private act, which constitutes voyeurism, and to installing equipment or modifying structures to facilitate such voyeuristic acts.

These offences were carried out in the towns of Newport and Chepstow, both of which are situated in the historic and culturally rich region of Gwent.

The defendant was brought before Cardiff Crown Court, where he was sentenced to a term of 26 months in prison.

As part of his sentence, Hood is required to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, a measure designed to monitor and prevent further offending.

Additionally, he was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which will remain in effect for the same period, restricting his activities and interactions to protect the community from potential harm.
